The ability for a lending company to make a fast decision on an application has to do with the amazing technological boom that has made personal information available at the touch of a keystroke. Credit scores can be pulled up by lending companies once they have a consumer's social security number. When consumers apply for a credit card, they are asking the lending company to determine their credit worthiness and make a decision about how much they could borrow at any given time.
Whereas it may be appealing to find out that information from the comfort of home or the comfort of a check-out line, having a responsible approach to credit means not taking on more debt than in healthy. Playing it safe with credit cards can make the difference between a safe future and a scary one. The power is in the consumer's hands.
