Getting the auto loan that fits long term
Getting a vehicle and fitting into your present budget is important. But, you need to decide how long you can afford to pay on your auto loan. Paying two hundred or three hundred dollars for two years may be ok, but are you comfortable doing that for four years or more? Don't only decide how much you can pay each month, but how long you're comfortable making that monthly payment.
As you can see, getting an auto loan is about much more than having the credit to qualify. It's about fitting the right vehicle, into the right payment, for the right loan term. If one thing doesn't feel comfortable, don't do it! An auto loan is probably the second biggest debt you'll ever get into, second to a mortgage, do it smartly!
