Choosing a Student Credit Card (cont.)

Contributed by Rachel s Pickett

Citi Platinum Student Credit Card

In addition to being enrolled in a 4 year degree program this credit card company requires that you have a valid social security number.

The Citi Platinum Student Credit Card is almost identical the the Chase Student Platinum. The minimum finance charge has been reduced to 50 cents per period. Although this card is just as good as the Chase Platinum Student card, they only offer limited information and links on their website for students.

Discover Student Credit Card

The Discover Student card, like Chase and Citi, is identical to all introductory offers. But, after the first six months your annual percentage rate can jump to almost 18%! With the Chase and Citi credit cards your APR is guaranteed not to go above 15.49%. If you maintain good credit for the first six months on your Discover Student card then you can expect to get a good APR. Possibly between 9.99% and 14.24%. This may vary from person to person.

All of these cards are good offers for student credit. Choosing the right credit for your life is priceless. Make an educated decision about credit because the choices you make now will affect you later!
