Is it true I can get a free copy of my credit report from experian?
You are entitled to one free copy of your experian credit report a year. Just contact experian and let them know you want your free copy. Many consumers don't know this but if you were recently denied for credit you are entitled to a fee copy of your experian credit report. The reason that you can get a free coy of your credit report when you have been denied for credit is so that you can look at it to see why you were denied.
The reason you can get a free copy of it once a year is so that you can be a responsible consumer and know what is on your report. You also will want to check it for errors at this time. A responsible consumer knows what their credit score is and knows what their credit says about them. so get in touch with them and ask for your free copy so you know what is on it and what it says about you to others.
