Such mailings typically include suggestions for ways to use these checks -- buy a sailboat this summer, take a trip to Greece for your honeymoon, build that room addition in time for the family visit at Christmas! Think how great your life could be, just by signing these checks and taking advantage of that new credit limit! Well,at least it'll be great until you get the next credit card bill in the mail -- feel a throbbing headache coming on?
If you think you have a problem, you might want to ask yourself a few key questions. Have you obtained a line of credit (i.e. loan) to help make payments on a credit card? Are you frequently surprised at the end of the month when the bill comes and you don't recognize or remember several of your largest purchases? Do you struggle to make only the minimum monthly payments, or have trouble getting them in on time?
Any and all of these "symptoms" could mean you have a credit card spending problem, and that you might do well to seek out a debt counseling or debt consolidation organization. There is even something called Debtors Anonymous (D.A.), predicated on the same basic 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Sometimes treating yourself means treating yourself to some help.
