Your credit report can tell a lot about you. It may let people know if you're stable, if you hop around to a lot of different jobs, and mostly, it lets people know if you pay your bills on time.
Did you know that potential employers can have access to your credit report? Well, they can. When you go on a job interview for a position which has any responsibilities at all, especially cash handling, the will want to see your credit . Legally, you have to sign a paper giving them the authorization to do so. If you don't sign it, you probably won't be getting that job.
Have you thought about your residence? If you would like to move out of your parent some someday into your own apartment, your future landlord will probably want a copy of your credit report. Once again, they will ask you to sign a paper giving them the authorization to pull your credit. If you don't sign it, you must continue your apartment hunting somewhere else.
Now you want to buy a new car. The majority of people don't actually have the cash lying around to go out and buy a nice car, so they go to a bank or other financial institution for a loan. If you don't have good credit, maybe you'll get a loan, but your interst rate and monthly payment will be much higher than someone with better credit.
