Contributed by Stephanie Litaker

Another benefit to having a great credit report score is the possibility of a lower interest rate. That's right, paying your bills on time, all the time, will earn you a good credit report score which will in turn earn you other rewards. Potential lenders will always look highly upon a good credit report score, and this can only work to your benefit.

Whether you are working with a real estate agent or working directly with the seller of the property you would like to purchase, a good credit report score can win you some brownie points too. No, you should not offer up your credit report score to the seller or your agent - honestly they probably won't even know what the number you give them means. But, having a great credit report score can help you become pre-approved for a home mortgage, which you can definitely use to your advantage.

Your credit report score is more than just a number

You and your credit report score mean more to one another than just a number on a piece of paper. Most lenders see your credit report score as a testament to your character and is also a way judge your willingness to repay the debts you incur.
