Why should I get a copy of my trans union credit report?
You should get a copy of your trans union credit report to check it for errors. Believe it or not errors do occur on credit reports and they can't be removed immediately. If there is an error on your trans union credit report the only way you will know it is there is to take a look at your report and find it. An error will take a little time to be removed from your credit report so you will want to know about it as soon as possible.
If there is an error on your trans union credit report that you don't know about it is possible that you will be denied for credit that you have earned and deserve. You don't want something like that to happen so be a wise consumer and take a look at your credit report a couple or times a year. You don't have to look at it every week but be smart and know what it says and take a look at it three or four times through out the year.
If you know you will applying for credit soon it is a good idea to get a copy of it and look at it before you do. You can check for errors and see what your credit score is and if it needs to be raised. It's your credit and no one is going to take care of it but you so get a copy and know what's going on with your credit.
