A credit card is almost necessary these days. Everywhere you go and everything you do it seems a credit card is needed to secure something, to validate something, or authenticate something. This use of a credit card can be difficult when you have bad credit. Luckily, even if you have bad credit you can still secure a credit card!

Many banks now offer credit cards as well as check cards. Check cards are great because every time you use them, the money comes directly out of your checking account. This keeps you accountable, but also allows you to have the use of a credit card for purchases, as well as the seemingly endless things we come across every day that need credit verification.

A secured credit card can get your good credit back!

A secured credit card requires a bit of cash up front, but it's a good way to get get back on your feet from a credit stand point.

A secured credit card is a card that you use just like any other card, but you only get to spend what you put into the account. It's somewhat like a check card, except the whole point is to show creditors you are capable of paying off and spending within your limits. Many lenders and creditors look to see if you have a secured credit card when you apply with them for other forms of credit. When you are trying to get back your good credit rating many creditors look at a secured card as a good faith measure on your part.

What's nice about having a secured card is that your payments and account activity will be reported to the credit bureaus so you may actually start seeing traditional credit card applications in your mailbox six to eight months after on time payments.
