Girls Just Want to Have Fun with Their Credit Card...and Boys Do Too

Contributed by Stephanie Litaker

It's not a secret, paying with a credit card is easier than resisting the urge to buy

We all get carried away sometimes when we shop and it is always even easier to get carried away when we use that friendly piece of plastic known as a credit card. Credit card shopping is a tempting offer, especially when we "really need" something, even though when reality sets in again we're going to realize that we didn't really "need" it, rather it was an impulse buy.

Impulse buys can be the downfall of your financial state if you use a credit card without thinking, and that's exactly what most people do. Not only do some people use credit cards with the same gusto used to snag that great sweater, but some others (maybe the same people who knows) will use a credit card like a badge of honor, especially young credit card holders. A way to prove to the world that you are a "grown up" now and can have your own credit card.

If that's what you're thinking when you use your credit card, you need to realize that a "grown up" doesn't have to be made to feel grown up, the aching back and painful knees are enough to remind them.

It's so easy to fall in love, and even easier to get a credit card of your very own

Why is there so much credit card debt in this country? Easy, because credit cards are so readily available and easy to obtain. Every bank, credit union, department store, auto manufacturer, airline company, children's store and pretty much every other place of business offers some type of credit card to their customers. How many times are you asked "would you like to apply for our credit card and save 20 percent on today's purchases? " when you shop?
