Christian Debt Management: God Doesn't Play That Game

Again according to "God and Money," God does not give us money to satisfy our every desire - financial blessings should not be wasted on lavish purchases. God does not build our egos through money. He has no wish to corrupt us or worry us. If we are stressed and worried over money, then God is not in control. He doesn't want us to fall into the trap of focusing our life on possessions. As a Christian, your true wealth is not in your pocket.

Christian Debt Management: Financial Freedom

Most Americans do not learn how to handle their money. If we don't have the money, we buy it anyway. We also haven't learn to plan adequately for possible emergencies. For a Christian, finding true financial freedom involves transferring everything to God. God already owns everything, so of course you are not physically transferring ownership. But once you give your possessions to God, it changes perspective because you are now a steward of God's possessions. A steward is a caretaker.

For example, in The Lord of the Rings, the Steward of Gondor took care of the kingdom until the return of the king. The kingdom was not the steward's to do with as he wished, and the same is true of our possessions. It is a paradox that finding financial freedom appears to put us into spiritual bondage, but the opposite is actually true.

If you keep in mind how and why God uses money and how He does not, and that you are taking care of someone else's possessions, you become free from worry and stress in your finances.
