God has his own view of debt management. As a Christian, you know that God's way is not necessarily yours. The way we look at money and finances can be flawed if we don't use and manage our money the way God intended. We may say we want to turn our finances over to God, but that means we have to allow His guidance. God does not say money is good. He also doesn't say money is bad. It is our misuse of our financial resources creates the eventual need for debt management. We need to understand how God views money and how He uses it in His relationship with Christians.
How does God use money? According to Crown Ministries publication "God and Money," He uses it to benefit Christians in many ways. He blesses us, he gives us direction, He teaches us self-control and trust. He can show us who is really in control. He promises to meet necessities if we only trust. He proves to us that our security rests in God and not in ourselves. God can really direct us by taking money away or giving us an abundance.
He blesses us by allowing us to meet the needs of another person and showing us how fortunate we are. Does God tell us not to ever borrow or go into debt? Not really. But he wants Christians to avoid the need for debt management by not borrowing what we cannot repay.
