How to Choose the Best Credit Card before You Apply

Contributed by Annie Bauers

there are so many credit card offers how do I choose one to apply for?

The main thing you look for when you choose a credit card to apply for is a low interest rate. Your goal in a credit card should be to secure one with the lowest interest rate you can qualify for. A low interest rate will save you lots of money over the course of a year. Before you apply for a credit card it is a pretty smart move on your behalf to make sure the interest rate is the lowest one you can get.

If you apply for a credit card with a high interest rate you will be stuck with it and pay more in interest than you have to. Be a wise consumer and shop around for credit cards with low interest rates before you fill out the application and send it in. If you don't you may very well end up paying more in interest than you did for what you actually purchased. That's not cool so shope around before you send in that application.

It is well worth your time to look for a low interest rate in a credit card.
