Ok, What Shouldn't I Do To Get the Best Credit Card Rates?

There are a few things you need to avoid in order to receive the best credit card rates that are available. First, having too many credit cards can cause you to not get the best credit card rate on a new credit card. Offering a credit card, especially one with a great rate, is a risk if you already have many credit cards that could possibly overwhelm you. Also if you have applied for credit cards within a short period of time of each other, that could also increase your interest rates.

Finally, making late payments or skipping payments on your bills or credit cards can lower your credit score if these late payments are reported. If you repeatedly make late payments, a credit bureau will be contacted and a lower score increases your chances of higher interest rates on a credit cards.

If this sounds like behavior you have partaken of recently, then maybe you need to be patient and wait it out for a while. Then again, go for it; the worst that can happen is that you are offered a credit card with a high interest rate - you can always decline the card.
