I Need Debt Consolidation - Can I Qualify for an Unsecured Loan? (cont.)

I Don't Have A Lot Of Debt, How Can I Get An Unsecured Debt Consolidation Loan?

If you don't have a lot of debt, and you've made your payments on time with the debt you do have, then chances are pretty good that you will qualify for an unsecured loan.

The first place to start is the bank where you do all of your banking like your checking and savings accounts. If you've been a good customer there, it's likely they will look favorably on your application. Keep in mind that they are assuming a risk by lending you money, if you can't manage your bank account, how will you manage their loan?

If your bank turns you down, or you don't have a particular bank that you use, a search on the Internet is probably your next best bet. Once you've started your search, gather information on any company you may be interested in. Once you have several put together, sit down and compare the pros and cons of each company.

Find out their entire loan process, fees you'll have to pay, penalties, if any, for early pay off, etc. Obtaining this type of loan off the Internet may mean you're paying a little higher interest rate, but if the loan is only over a year or two, look at the high side - you'll be out of debt sooner, for a small price.
