Preventing Credit Card Problems >From Other Than The Internet

While the Internet is certainly a problem with the hackers and thieves who are out there, it's certainly not the only place your identity can be victimized. There are many ways to prevent becoming a victim of fraud or identity theft, but it's important that these steps become a part of your normal routine.

1. Always know who you are dealing with. Never give your social security number, credit card number or any other personal information over the phone or Internet unless you have initiated the call;

2. Always protect your PIN number when using the ATM machine or your debit card at the local supermarket;

3. Always check your credit card after you use it to make sure it's yours;

4. If your debit or credit card is stolen, report it immediately;

5. Only carry the cards and personal identification that you need with you, leave the rest at home;

6. Check your monthly statements online regularly and look for any unusual transactions.

Simply following these tips is a good way to thwart a would-be thief!
