It's Never Too Late to Pay off Your Credit Card Debt!
Almost every one has found themselves with a credit card bill they could not pay. It's a scary feeling, especially when you've always paid your bills on time. And, you don't want one missed payment to affect your credit rating. But, as circumstance keeps piling upon circumstance you miss a couple payments. It's easy for one missed payment to become three or more! And, before you know it your balance due is so much more than you could possibly pay.
Like most people the overwhelming feelings get the best of you and you just ignore the credit card payment altogether. And, before you know it you're ignoring the bill collectors! Scary stuff!
It's never too late to save your credit card account standing!
Simply put, ignore the creditors. Tell them you will do your best to get their money back to them as quickly as possible. Be polite, but don't let them make you feel bad. Instead, come up with a game plan to restore your credit card standing to something you can be proud of!
Your credit card game plan!
Go over your finances and figure out how much you can pay to the credit card company each month. Be sure you are paying for more than just the finance charges, or you'll never get it paid back. Even if you pay just ten or twenty dollars toward the outstanding balance your credit card company will see you making attempts to repay your debt and for the most part, they will back off. Remember that credit card companies are only allowed to make reasonable attempts to collect the debt, but that doesn't mean they are allowed to harass you!
If your credit card company is relentless, research the option of transferring the whole balance to a new card with a lower interest rate. Because of the lower interest rate, you'll be able to pay off the debt much sooner. Be sure not to charge any more to the card until you have paid everything back! Charging more to the card will only make it more difficult to catch up!
