If I have a merchant account why do I need a credit card processor?
If you have a merchant account you will need a credit card processor so that you can authorize your sales when they are made. You don't want to wait until the sale goes to the credit card company and is processed. This is because if the sale is not authorized or the card is not valid you won't be paid. If you have a credit card processor when you make a sale you'll be able to authorize the sale and make sure the credit card is valid right there in your store.
This means there won't be any surprises for you later when you are informed that a dale isn't good because it wasn't authorized. If you have a credit card processor you'll be able to make sure the card is valid and the sale has been authorized all within seconds. It is not hard to use the equipment that is needed to process a credit card and it's a good thing to have this equipment so you know a sale is a sale when you make it!
If you have a merchant account you should have the equipment to process credit cards and it will save you the heartache of finding out that some of your sales were no good!
