In considering whether an instant credit card is right for you, it is advisable to look at what your true motivations are for seeking "easy" credit. Why is having it "instantly" important? Are you trying to avoid some much needed self-control in your spending habits? Are you hoping to impress someone with your new credit card? Do you have high hopes about the healing powers of credit to fix what's wrong in your life?
While shopping for instant credit cards, you will want to slow your impulses a bit and REALLY look at the fine print, that is, the Terms and Conditions disclosure statement. If you're on a website and the Terms and Conditions isn't on a page you can read before you apply for the card, MOVE ON. Kind of like insisting that you use protection before you get involved. In credit as in love, the modern world is full of dangerous attractions.
When you read the Terms and Conditions (the "blood test" of your new credit card)you may find some things which surprise you. In some cases, while the application boasts "no credit check," you may see in the Terms and Conditions that the company "reserves the right" to look up you credit report at an unspecified later time. Also, for those interested in establishing or repairing credit, the application may say that the company will regularly report your payment habits to the credit bureaus.
Again, in the Terms and Conditions, you may find the statement that the company "reserves the right" NOT to report to the bureaus, with no reason given. If truthfulness and open communication are important to you in a relationship, you might want to reconsider your application.
