Jump on the Bandwagon and Repair Your Credit at the Same Time!

It is often the case that both firms and individuals in the business of repairing credit through either paid negotiation or through selling a how-to kit are also promoting a political agenda. It can not be denied that more and more people are having difficulty with managing credit and living within their means. The duress of living paycheck to paycheck or of being harangued by collection agencies can naturally give rise to a certain degree of paranoia.

You will find liberal political tracts on some websites promoting credit repair services. This is not incompatible with effective service, but as with law firms specializing in class action lawsuits and workers compensation, be careful that you are not being wooed by persuasive speechmaking.

An Unlikely Ally in Helping to Repair Your Credit: Big Brother

The Federal Trade Commission has a website devoted to helping the consumer sort out the credit repair phenomenon. On this website there is a free template for use in contacting creditors, and an explanation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The FTC strongly advises against use of credit repair services, warning that many of them are schemes. Choice of an ally in the credit repair venture is a personal choice, and one that should not be taken lightly.
