Fixing inaccuracies isn't that tough if you know what to do ahead of time. The inaccuracies can come into play all over your reports, from previous addresses and employers, to the creditors themselves. Wherever the errors are, it's your responsibility to fix them.
All inquiries must be submitted in writing, either by mail or email. The easier of the two, just like everything else is via email. When you have a copy of your report, you can very simply access the credit bureau's website, click on "disputes" and follow the directions. The credit bureau must now take your dispute to the actual creditor. Your creditor has ten days in which to respond. At the ten day mark, your creditor has to either prove that the credit report is accurate, or take the error off. That's it.
If the credit bureau says that they have proof, you can submit another dispute, this time talking with the credit bureau beforehand. Believe it or not, the credit bureau's are here to help you, and can make the difference you need in starting your business!
