Read That Credit Card Offer and Make Sure It Really is to Good to Be True!

Contributed by Annie Bauers

I saw a credit card offer that sounded to good to be true is it?

If you see a credit card offer that sounds to good to be true, use your common sense because it might be. There could be changing interest rates offered on the credit card and that is not good. If you secure a credit card that has an interest rate that changes it is probably going to raise over time not go lower. You also want to read the credit card offer carefully to make sure that there are not any hidden fees.

The fine print is an important part of the contract to read because if there are hidden fees odds are this is where they will be hidden. It is also important that you understand when you fill out a credit card offer and send it in it is a contract and you are agreeing with the terms listed on it. If it sounds to good to be true this should alert you that it probably is so take time to read it and look for what it really offers!

*** What should I look for on a credit card offer?

When you get a credit card offer you want to be sure you know what the annual percentage rate is on it. If you are being offered one that seems unusually low be sure to read the fine print. You may be offered a really low rate that will increase and that isn't a good thing. If you get a low interest rate on your card you want to be sure you get to keep it. You should also take the time to read the credit card offer and make sure that there are no hidden costs that you will be charged for.
