If you hand your credit card to a sales associate make sure that you watch them when they scan your card at the register. Sometimes these criminals will use a portable credit card reader to steal your information. Preventing credit card fraud just takes an eye!

Preventing Credit Card Fraud Online

When you make downloads online sometimes there is spyware included with the download. Spyware keeps a record of your online activity, and usually the type associated with downloads are meant for companies to send you advertising based on sites you like to visit. But this spyware is sometimes used by criminals to track your credit card and personal information. When downloading make sure that you know all the components of your download. When online use secure and trusted websites.

The icon for secure and trusted websites is usually located at the bottom of the page with either a red, green, or gold check mark. One other way that you can prevent credit card fraud online is simple, don't use your credit or debit cards online. Instead open an account with a company like PayPal, a trusted web company that can make online payments with your credit card for you.
