Be Smart When You Shop Online and Watch out for Credit Card Fraud! (cont.)

A secure web site is one that has firewalls and other protective software so that when you give out personal information like your credit card number it doesn't go anywhere accept to the business you are buying something from. No one can get to this information and it is secure. If you are on a secure web page it will be advertised on the page so be sure to look for it and if you do business on secure sites you should be able to shop till you drop and you might even find yourself some good deals!

Will it ever be safe to give out my credit card online? There are things I want but I am afraid to buy them because of fraud.

It is safe to give out your credit card information if you are on a secure web site. Thousands of consumers shop online every day without incidence of credit card fraud. However if credit card fraud is your concern always make sure that you are on a secure web page before you give out any information. If the site is secure you should be able to shop with confidence just be cautious when you do!
