Your third option is to get denied for credit. When this happens, you will receive a letter in the mail explaining why, usually relating to information obtained from one of the major credit bureaus above. Now you can log into their website, enter some of the information from the letter which you received, adn you're on your way to a free credit report!
One more thing- Some states, like Massachusetts, have laws mandating that you can get a free annual credit report. this is definitely worth checking into. Just log on to one of the big three's websites. They'll have links to the states which have the free credit report as a law.
Just make sure that the information is right, and while you're at it, make sure that the information is yours! If you are a Jr. or a III, there can be so many errors confusing you with your same name family member.
If you find errors, contact the bureaus immediately. They have ways to help you fix your credit report!
