What's The Easiest Way To Repair Bad Credit?

There is no magic fairy dust that can be sprinkled on your credit report and repair your bad credit. Before we talk about credit repair, why don't we take a look at what you got you into financial difficulty in the first place. Some of the most common credit problems are listed below, how many categories do you fit in?

* Bankruptcy, repossession, liens, judgments, write-offs? These are all a matter of public record and the credit bureaus can access public records.

* Credit theft, identity theft or a merged credit file? Fraudulent activity on your credit report is definitely a real problem. Identity theft is becoming the fastest growing crime in North America.

* Unpaid child support or unpaid tax liens? These types of boo-boos can stay on your credit for up to seven years from the date it's PAID.

So back to the original question, the best way to repair bad credit is to avoid needing to repair bad credit.

Are There Companies Who Repair Bad Credit?

Let's put it this way - there are companies who CLAIM they can repair bad credit. There is no legal way to remove derogatory credit from your credit report - unless it is false. That's not credit repair, it's discrepancy repair. And guess what? You can do it yourself without paying some exorbitant fee to a "credit repair" company. Simply pull a copy of your credit report (you'll want to get a copy from all three reporting agencies as each one may or may not have different information.)
