Another way to improve you credit is to close any accounts you do not need. The less credit you are currently using, the less of a risk you pose to credit lenders. It is also wise to avoid accepting credit you do not need. Having to much credit extended can negatively impact your credit report score.
A great way to maintain or rebuild good credit is to avoid any unnecessary credit inquiries. If you do not need credit, do not apply for it. Any credit application that you complete may be listed on your credit report. If you have been denied numerous times for credit in a short period of time it can hurt your credit score. You should only apply for credit that you are serious in asking for and repaying.
Using your credit wisely can save you time, energy, and money. Keep all of your credit accounts at a minimum and pay all of your bills on time. Obtain a copy of your credit report every three to four months for your personal review. Use your credit responsibly and you are more likely to receive more, and better credit offers to get the things you want and need!
