Just because you are a work at home mom, your credit is important - So here's how to get a free copy of your credit report!
Okay, this will work. But keep in mind that nothing is free, including these reports. If you're smart about it though, they can be.
You see, when you enter one of these free credit report websites, you will need a credit card. This is because you will need to enter the information on your card in order to agree to their terms and conditions, usually including a "free trial" of their credit service. If you can remember to cancel this service after your trial period has ended (usually thirty days), your report will indeed be free. If you don't cancel, you will be billed a monthly fee for their service.
Services vary, depending on the site that you go to, but can include credit monitoring and fraud alert. So just be wise enough to read all of their terms and conditions before proceeding to get your report.
So, how do find out if you live in one of the lucky states? Just go to the credit bureaus' websites. A simple search for Trans Union, Equifax or Experian (the three main credit bureaus) will
bring to their sites. On their sites, they will have a link to the states which offer this service and you can usually get one free report a year.
