Why would I want to get a gas credit card? I have a regular card already
Many consumers get a gas credit card so they can keep their gas expenses different from other credit card charges and so they don't have to use their cash. If you have one of these cards you might discover that it is easier to use it to make all of your gasoline and automotive purchases with. By doing this it will keep all of these purchases separate and will make your household bookkeeping easier because it will all be listed on your monthly statement for you.
Many consumers also find that it is easier on their budget and to purchase gasoline by using their gas credit card. This lets them save their cash and manage their household budget by being able to purchase gasoline with the card. Some people travel for work and are reimbursed by their employer so having one of these cards makes record keeping very easy for them. There are several reasons to get one of these cards and most consumers do it to make their life easier.
Can I buy anything besides gas at the station I have my credit card with?
You can charge anything you want from the company that secured your gas credit card. Many times these stations sell gasoline along with automotive repairs and other services. You are also allowed to buy anything that they sell inside their stations from motor oil to soda pop and put it on your gas credit card. You will be allowed to purchase any product that the gasoline company that issued you your card sells.
